Spend the day in the magical and enchanted world of fairy tales together with your children. Go on a journey of discovery in Villa Villekulla, Katthult, or Mattisborgen. Let your children get to know Karlsson on the Roof—the "world's best Karlsson"—or Emil and Ida, Ronja the Robber's Daughter, or any of the other exciting and cozy fairy tale characters.
Astrid Lindgren's World is an adventure greater than you and your family can imagine – a world filled with lively theater performances and games, cozy and vibrant fairy tale environments to explore, and exciting stories to relive together with your children.
Here, children step right into the stories, fairy tales become reality, and children truly take center stage as laughter, imagination, and curiosity fill the day's magical adventures.
Fredensborg – continued adventures and lakeside manor life for the whole family
Back at Fredensborg, the adventures continue for the whole family, albeit at a more leisurely pace. Let the children end the day with fun and games in the manor park's playground and playhouse.
Let the little ones splash and play down by the lake. There is a jetty for jumping or diving, a raft with a slide and mini diving tower, and long sandy beaches where they can run around to their hearts' content. For adventures on the lake and exploring Bockö, there are rowboats and canoes available.
Join in the children's fun and games, or retreat for a while and simply enjoy manor life in the lush manor park, or end the day in peace and quiet by the lake at sunset. Stay an extra day or two and try your hand at golf
The whole family lives "in the middle of the golf course." Tobo Golf Club's scenic 18-hole course stretches around Fredensborg. Several of the courses, as well as the driving range and putting green, are just a stone's throw from the manor house steps.
Feel free to end your family adventure with an extra day or two at Fredensborg. Try golf with the whole family. For those who wish, there is the option of golf lessons and the possibility to borrow clubs and balls for, for example, a family gathering at sunset on the putting green or at the driving range. Family housing of varying sizes and characteristics
The manor house has five cozy rooms, carefully renovated and offering extra comfort, including three double rooms and two mini suites.
For families who wish, there are also two larger suites in the same style, with a small, pleasant kitchen area. All rooms and suites in the manor house can be booked as family rooms.
The hotel section, which is connected to the manor house, has 40 double rooms, including 20 double rooms with views of the golf course and Lake Gissen, and 10 superior double rooms with views of the manor park and the lake.
In late autumn, when the leaves have fallen, the lake can be seen between the trees, but when the trees come back into leaf in spring, the foliage obscures the lake from most of the rooms.
Several of the double rooms and superior double rooms can be booked as family rooms with space for two children (wall-mounted fold-out bunk bed). For families who want extra space and two bathrooms, there are double rooms with a connecting door to the adjacent room.

Frequently asked questions and other information
- Prices. The prices listed above for family packages apply to double rooms with an extra bed (2 adults + 1 child up to 14 years old) or double rooms with wall-mounted bunk beds (2 adults + 2 children up to 14 years old), including breakfast buffet.
- Family room package price. Our family rooms are located on the ground floor, directly adjacent to the manor park with a playground and playhouse . For more information, see our accommodation options. The rooms are relatively small, but there is plenty of space elsewhere indoors and, above all, outdoors.
- Family rooms with more space. If you want a room for more family members or simply more space, we also offer family rooms and family suites with more beds and more space. For more information, see our accommodation options.
- Tickets to ALV. We do not provide admission tickets to Astrid Lindgren's World. Tickets can be purchased on ALV's own website or at the theme park entrance.
- Distance to ALV. Astrid Lindgren's World is about a 15-minute drive from Fredensborg.
- Food and drink. Our restaurantoffers delicious food for young and old alike. Dinner in the manor park—where the children quickly disappear from the table to enjoy themselves in the playground and playhouse right next door—is a pleasant way to end the day.
- Activities. All our activities in the manor park and down by the lake (without any special arrangements on our part) are free for our guests, such as mini golf, boules, padel, tennis, and disc golf, as well as the use of bicycles, rowboats, and canoes.
- Swimming and sauna. Lake Gissen, with jetties, rafts to swim to, and shallow sandy beaches, is only about 200 meters from the manor park (the hotel does not have a pool). The sauna in Sjöstugan is always heated between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m.
- Wood-fired hot tub. Right next to Sjöstugan and the jetty, you can enjoy a warming autumn, winter, or spring dip in our wood-fired hot tub. In winter, an ice-cold dip from the jetty is an experience to be enjoyed in combination with a sauna and a warming hot tub.
- Check-in and check-out. Check-in from 3 p.m. Check-out by 11 a.m. Late check-out is possible subject to availability.
