The trip can, of course, be customized to suit your needs.
1. Departure from home and crossing to Sweden
2. Tag / Welcome to Sweden Daily stage approx. 31 km
Freshly arrived in Trelleborg, we set off by bus – our first destination is Kosta Boda. Here we immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of Swedish glass art. In a traditional glassworks, we experience up close how liquid glass is transformed into artistic forms with fire and sensitivity – a craft that is deeply rooted in this region. In the afternoon, we arrive at our hotel, Fredensborgs Herrgård, near Vimmerby, and relax as we bring the first day of our trip to a close.

3. Tag / Cycling tour around Fredensborg Daily stage approx. 55 km
We start right at the hotel in Småland for the next stage of our cycle tour. On well-maintained paths, we cycle through idyllic forests, past deep blue lakes and typical Swedish wooden houses. Here, the landscape shows its original side – peaceful, clear and full of vastness. After about 55 kilometers, we reach our destination and, filled with many impressions and the special feeling of actively experiencing Sweden up close, we let the day come to an end.

4. Tag / A journey into the world of Astrid Lindgren's film sets Daily stage approx. 32 km (6 hours)
The stories of Bullerbü and Katthult come to life once again. On our way to the various filming locations, we’ll be accompanied by a German guide who has lived in Mariannelund for over 20 years and will share many little stories that can’t be found anywhere else. During this several-hour journey, we’ll sample culinary delights from Småland.

A visit to Filmbyn Småland and a detour to Mariannelund's candy factory are also on the agenda.

5. Explore the Götakanal by boat and bike; daily route approx. 23 km
A trip to Småland just wouldn’t be a proper Swedish vacation without a boat tour on the Göta Canal! The “Wasa Lejon” glides peacefully along the canal during the three-hour journey from Berg to Borensberg. And the series of locks is a special experience.

Afterward, everyone cycles together along the canal back to the starting point in Berg, and to round off the day, we’ll visit the 11th-century Vreta Monastery with its herb garden. From there, we’ll take the bus back to the hotel.

6. Tag / A guided hike in Norra Kvills National Park. Daily stage approx. 22 km + hike
Experience the wilderness of an untouched natural forest with moss-covered boulders, ancient spruce trees, and enchanted forest ponds. Norra Kvill is one of Sweden's oldest and smallest national parks, reminiscent of Ronja the Robber's Daughter's Mattis Forest, and was founded in 1927. Hike with our guides through the fairytale-like natural landscape that inspired Astrid Lindgren and was also visited by Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria in 2025.
You can choose one of three routes of varying lengths for your group.

We will end the hike with a cozy barbecue, where regional products will be offered. And why shouldn't we sing a few songs from Astrid Lindgren's films together?

7. Tag / Virum Elk Park & Astrid Lindgren Näs Day stage approx. 32 km
Elche, the epitome of Sweden, is our first destination today. We have the opportunity to feed the "King of the Forest," and the very brave among us might even dare to give him a kiss?

Then we drive to Vimmerby and visit Astrid Lindgren's birthplace. The exhibition provides a very personal insight into the life and work of this extraordinary writer. Afterwards, the small town awaits a tour.

8. Tag: Via Växjö to the ferry
After a final hearty breakfast in Fredensborg, it's time to head home. Before leaving Sweden after these impressive days, there is a stopover in Växjö with a visit to the Småland Museum, Carl von Linné Park, the House of Emigrants, and the cathedral, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then it's on to the ferry.
