There is room here for both lively socializing and retreating for intimate conversations. There is also time and space for long dinners and spontaneous conversations that continue long into the night.

The 19th-century manor house bears traces of conversations, laughter, and encounters through generations. Celebrate and reminisce in the salons, in the upper tower room with its sweeping views of the surrounding countryside, or out on the verandas and balconies.
Socialize and chat about this and that in the manor park
The lindens, beeches, oaks, and other old trees in the lush manor park carry stories from a bygone era. There is plenty of space here for lively and heartfelt socializing, thoughtful conversations, and walks in the surrounding idyllic nature.
Meet up and socialize spontaneously down by the lake and out on Bockö
Down by Lake Gissen, the lake cottage awaits with a jetty, rafts to swim to, a sauna, and a wood-fired hot tub—an obvious gathering place for both lively conversations and quiet moments. Here, spontaneous socializing turns into a morning dip, a swim at dusk, a sauna, or a cup of coffee at sunset.
A short boat ride away lies Bockö – an island with completely untouched nature in the middle of the lake – an excursion destination that invites exploration, community, and conversation far beyond the sometimes hectic pace of everyday life.
Enjoy delicious food and personal service
Delicious food is a natural part of the Fredensborg experience – prepared with care using ingredients from local farms and suppliers. At the table and throughout your stay, you and your guests will be met with personal attention and a genuine desire to create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and at home.
Accommodation – celebrate and party for two or three days
For larger parties, Fredensborg can be booked in its entirety for weddings or other celebrations and events, with room for many overnight guests.
The manor house has five cozy rooms, carefully renovated and offering extracomfort, including three double rooms and two mini suites. For those who wish, there are also two larger suites in the same style, with a small, pleasant kitchen area.
The hotel section has 40 double rooms, 20 of which have views of the golf course and Lake Gissen, and 10 superior double rooms with views of the manor park and the lake.
In late autumn, when the leaves have fallen, the lake can be seen between the trees, but when the trees come back into leaf in spring, the foliage obscures the lake from most of the rooms.
Several rooms in both the manor house and the hotel section can be booked as family rooms. Some rooms in the hotel section have a connecting door to the adjacent room and are therefore ideal for families who want more space and two bathrooms. Read more about our accommodation options
Frequently asked questions and other information
- Activities. Allour activitiesin the manor park and down by the lake (without any special arrangements on our part) are free for our guests, such as mini golf, boules, padel, tennis, and disc golf, as well as the use of bicycles, rowboats, and canoes.
- Swimming and sauna. LakeGissen, with jetties, rafts to swim to, and shallow sandy beaches, is only about 200 meters from the manor park (the hotel does not have a pool). The sauna in Sjöstugan is always heated between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m.
- Wood-fired hot tub. Right next to Sjöstugan and the jetty, you can enjoy a warming autumn, winter, or spring dip in our wood-fired hot tub. In winter, an ice-cold dip from the jetty is an experience to be enjoyed in combination with a sauna and a warming hot tub.
